Lieke van der Velden is managing partner at our firm, together with Sjoerd Meijer. Lieke combines her management tasks with her Corporate M&A practice in which she focuses on the financial sector. She advises international and domestic clients on corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and management buy-outs.

Recent representative transactions include advising:
- a.s.r. on its EUR 4.9 billion acquisition of Aegon Netherlands (2023)
- Blackfin Capital on a variety of transactions, including its sale of the CED Group (tech enabled insurance services and solutions platform) to Rivean Capital (2023)
- ABN AMRO on a variety of transactions, including the sale of its PPI (pension premium institute) to Achmea (2022), the sale of its escrow business to Intertrust (2019), and the acquisition of the Belgian private banking business of Sociéte Générale (2018/2019)
- Blackstone on its investment in payment services provider Mollie (2021)
- Pollen Street on the merger between Capitalflow and payment services provider bunq, in consideration of which Pollen Street acquired just below 10% in bunq (2021)

Qualifications
Lieke graduated from Utrecht University in 1995 and joined NautaDutilh in the same year. She became partner in 2005. In 1999 Lieke was seconded to Slaughter and May in London. Before becoming one of the firm's managing partners in 2022, Lieke headed our global corporate/M&A team between 2017 and 2022.
