He is the Dutch representative to UNCITRAL Working Group V and a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy as well as the president of the Amsterdam lawyers society. Robert is former president of the European association of Insolvency Practitioners, INSOL Europe and the Dutch association of insolvency lawyers, INSOLAD.
Author of a substantial number of articles in legal journals and contributions to legal books, Robert co-wrote a report on cross-border insolvency law to the Netherlands Association for International Law (NVRI). He also authored a report on groups of companies for the Netherlands Association for Comparative and International Insolvency Law (NACIIL). He is member of the editing board of the Dutch leading magazine on corporate law. Robert became a partner in 1994 after having joined the firm in 1985. In 1984, he graduated from the University of Amsterdam.
