Tara Veenendaal
Expertise
Tara Veenendaal is part of the Corporate Crime & Investigations team. She specialises in criminal, administrative and environmental law, with a particular focus on the intersection of these fields, for example in terms of inspections and enforcement actions. Tara joined NautaDutilh in 2015 and has advised many directors and (international) companies and governmental authorities on issues related to safety, environment and the Seveso Directive (former Brzo). She also assists clients dealing with enforcement proceedings, workplace accidents and major incidents (emissions and explosions).
Next to Tara’s focus on safety and environment, her key focus areas are corporate crime proceedings and settlements, ABAC compliance and (internal) investigations. Examples of investigations are investigations performed for management boards or shareholders of investors and insurers.

Tara obtained her master’s degree in law with honours from VU Amsterdam in 2014, with specialisations in public and administrative law and criminal law. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology. During her studies, Tara completed an internship at the public prosecutor's office and came in first and second place, respectively, in two moot court competitions. In 2015, Tara was awarded VU Amsterdam’s annual prize for most talented master’s law graduate. In 2020, she earned a post-graduate degree in financial and economic criminal law.
