Robert van Galen, partner in our Restructuring and Insolvency team, published his book: An Introduction to European Insolvency Law.

The book provides an introduction to the European legislation concerning insolvency and deals within the European Insolvency Regulation and three directives. The book offers practitioners and scholars an accessible and highly readable overview of European insolvency law.

Robert van Galen (1957) has been involved in many international restructurings, and is an active litigator. He has been admitted to the bar of the Dutch Supreme Court and has litigated a sizable number of important insolvency cases with that court and the European Court of Justice. Robert is fellow and international director of the American College of Bankruptcy and former president of both INSOL Europe and the Dutch insolvency lawyers association INSOLAD. He is a member of the experts group advising the European Commission on new legislation and represents the Netherlands in UNCITRAL Working Group V.
