As a proud member of IBA for many decades, we have recently participated in IBA's Covid-19 Global Voice project with a video contribution from Managing Partner Petra Zijp, who is an IBA officer and Legal Practice Division Council member.

The Global Voice project consists of an interactive world map that provides an insight into how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting IBA members across the world. By clicking on the dots of the map, you can view videos from IBA members around the world outlining their personal experiences and legal issues of concern to them at this time.

If you hover over Amsterdam on the map, you find Petra's video, in which she outlines her personal experience of the situation in the Netherlands and how our firm is being affected and managing the situation. She shares, for example, that although this crisis poses some real challenges for our firm, we have also seen some wonderful responses, including the launch of a special COVID-19 section on our corporate website, our first podcast and several webinars, and a community outreach initiative to provide legal support (pro bono) to small businesses and independent contractors with legal questions related to COVID-19.

As a firm, we find it important to stay connected with the broader legal community during these times, to share experiences and learn from each other.
Petra Zijp

Petra adds, "This is a great initiative from IBA that helps to humanise the situation. As a firm, we find it important to stay connected with the broader legal community during these times, to share experiences and learn from each other. We look forward to seeing our peers in person in the near future, hopefully at the annual IBA conference in Miami in November."
