In this year's FT Innovative Lawyers Awards, the Financial Times has ranked NautaDutilh as one of Europe's most innovative law firms. We are the only Benelux headquartered firm ranked in the top-30, with 136 points out of the possible maximum of 180.

Several of our firm's projects and initiatives are highlighted as case studies in best practice.

The MyNature retreats and coaching programme set up by our Learning&Development team together with The Changery during the pandemic are lauded as a best practice in the award's 'People and skills' category.

The data transfer impact assessment tool, to assess whether data transfers are compliant with Schrems II, developed by Peter Craddock is considered a best practice in digital law. The tool allows clients to assess the risk of a transfer and provides steps to mitigate that risk.

Our Product-as-a-Service help desk, co-created with ABN AMRO, is considered a best practice in sustainable finance. The report also highlights the contract template for financing product-as-a-service (PaaS) suppliers developed by our PaaS team, as well as the initiative's long-term goal to help promote a more circular economy.

We were also shortlisted for this year's 'Most Innovative Law Firm in Europe (non-UK)' and 'Sustainable Finance' awards.

"In these turbulent times, we had to reinvent ourselves and the way we do business, by focusing on our clients' changing needs and adapting our processes accordingly. The PaaS Help Desk, the data transfer impact assessment tool, and the MyNature retreats are great examples of innovation developed throughout our firm and across our offices. The recognition is a much-appreciated acknowledgement of the continuous efforts made by our people in these challenging times to deliver value to our clients". says Petra Zijp.

About the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards
According to the FT, the rankings are based primarily on law firm submissions as well as on fresh research, surveys and other qualitative research methods to uncover legal innovation in the region. The research was conducted by RSG Consulting. With a new research approach this year, the 2021 report highlights the firms and in-house teams that are the most digitally advanced and skilled at using innovative approaches to provide exceptional value to business and society.
